Preparing for a Potential TikTok Ban

Mindlessly scrolling on our phones is one of the best ways to quickly detox from a stressful day. Whether it’s funny, informative, or something else, short-form videos have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. TikTok has played a LARGE role in increasing the sharing of short-form videos online. As one of the largest online platforms in the U.S., the potential ban can be a worrisome time for many brands and content creators.

As of right now, it’s uncertain whether or not TikTok will actually be banned, but here are some ways you can prepare to potentially lose your TikTok audience:

  1. Research alternative platforms to TikTok for sharing video content.

There are many other platforms to tap into that will also help you grow your business via videos! For example, YouTube shorts or Instagram Reels provide an alternative for video content that will still allow you to actively engage with users.

  2. Make sure your online presence is well-rounded!

Find out what other platforms your audience enjoys and is active on and what platforms you already have a following on. These platforms are going to be the key to help grow your following!

  3. Reevaluate your current social media strategy and create alternative solutions to TikTok.

Go over your current strategy and goals and figure out what other options will help you achieve those goals if TikTok does get banned.
